More than a film, Kantara is expected to be an introspection of the past and the cultures of the Kadamba dynasty of Karnataka. The film also introduced cultural practices such as the Kola Festival, also known as Bhoota Kola, Daiva Kola, or Nemotsava.
It’s a ritualistic dance performance and worship ceremony for spirits and deities in the Tulu-speaking regions of India. The film showcased the world of Kola celebration like never seen before on the screen. This time, the makers are creating spectacular visuals to bring the Kadamba period to the screens.
