Edited by Hiba Anvar

The makers of “Thug Life” have revealed the new thug in town – Silambarasan. A teaser-intro video of Chimbu (Silambarasan) was released today, in which the new addition to the Kamal Haasan movie is seen in full action aboard an SUV and shooting (with guns). “Thug Life” is bringing together Kamal and master craftsman Mani Ratnam after a long gap of 37 years; they last worked together on “Nayagan.”

Kamal Haasan‘s ‘Thug Life’ is one of the most anticipated projects of 2024. After weeks of speculations, the film crew has confirmed that Silambarasan has joined the star-studded cast of Mani Ratnam’s directorial. The crew has unveiled the dynamic avatar of STR on Wednesday. Sharing the first-look poster on social media, the post was captioned, “In the Realms of Dust, A New Thug Arises! STR makes his Mark”.

The makers has also uploaded a video on YouTube handle in which STR is seen chased by vehicles in a backdrop of desert. In the 38-second video clip, the actor is then seen drifting the car and begins shooting with a handgun with a villainous smile. The desert backdrop and cars number plate gives the viewer a hint that the movie is set in Rajasthan.

“Thug Life” is produced by Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam, R. Mahendran, and Siva Ananth and boasts an ensemble cast including Trisha, Abhirami, Nassar, Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Sanya Malhotra, Gautham Karthik, Joju George, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Vaiyapuri.

The music of the movie is composed by Mani Ratnam’s favorite and Oscar winner, A.R. Rahman.
