In the era of celebrating old films, roughly after three decades, here comes the Rakesh Roshan directorial that brought the two big Khans from the Hindi film industry. Karan Arjun, featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, is all set to make its way to theatres again.

The surprising pairing of the two Khans of Bollywood, which shattered the box office records during its then release, is marching towards a second round of conquering theaters. This time, theatres across the world. Carrying the layered portrayal of brotherhood, reincarnation, and revenge, this 90s classic is set to deliver a treat to fans on November 22.

Nearly after 29 years of its release, this second highest grossing film of its time with Rs. 43 crore, Karan Arjun is coming back to theaters. Ahead of the re-release, director Rakesh Roshan shared a nostalgic note, which reads, “Back in the 90’s there were no film teasers, but today I’m very excited to present the Karan Arjun teaser to you all!”

Karan Arjun is a classic film about reincarnation. The film revolves around two brothers, Karan (Salman) and Arjun (Shah Rukh Khan), who are killed during a fight with Thakur Sangram Singh (late Amrish Puri) while they were protecting their mother (Rakhee). Following their deaths, the mother is assured that her Karan, Arjun, will return and take revenge. The film proceeds to show their reincarnated versions heading to the village where their mother awaits their return.

Interestingly, the amazing duo of Salman and Shah Rukh was not the first choice of the filmmaker. The original choice of actors were Shah Rukh and Ajay Devgn. But since the duo wanted to switch their roles, the film finally got settled with Salman and Shah Rukh Khan.

Upon its release, Karan Arjun emerged as an “all-time blockbuster” and the second highest-grossing Bollywood film of 1995 after Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, also featuring SRK and Amrish Puri. It was the sixth highest-grossing film of the decade.
