With just hours left for release, the expectation over Suriya and director Karthik Subbaraj’s Retro has been rising high. Amidst the buzz, the curiosity to witness the world created by the ace director has been at an all-time high among fans. Ahead of the release, Suriya dropped an interesting fact about the film’s 15-minute continuous shot.

The vibrant song Kanimaa, composed by music director Santhosh Narayanan, has gone viral on the internet ever since it dropped, creating reel trends, especially on Instagram. Behind the vibrant beats and the now-popular dance step, there is an interesting mixture of 15-minute-long sequences, which will blow the minds of the audience.

Actor Suriya, who has been extensively promoting the film, revealed the story behind the impressive single-take shot in the film.

Explaining the 15-minute single Kanimaa shot, Suriya revealed that it will be a diverse combination of song, dance, fights, emotions, arguments, and especially romance. As per the actor, the sequence would showcase the entire cast dancing, fighting, and conversing altogether. He further added the continuous shot will show the ground floor, upstairs, the balcony and even the basement and explore the mixed emotions of the situation.

It is also interesting to note that the 15-minute sequence would be the most emotional part of the film, which is placed at the beginning of the film. He also referred to this particular sequence as a “special moment” in the film.
