Adding on to its specialties, this movie will mark the 17th production of Aamir Khan Productions (AKP).
Overwhelmed with happiness, filmmaker Rajkumar Santhoshi said, “It’s the reunion with the most talented people. I worked with Aamir in Andaz Apna Apna and this time he is collaborating as a producer. On the other hand, with Sunny Deol, we made the most loved films like Ghayal, Damini, and Ghatak.”
He further added that this is his ‘dream team’. The filmmaker while speaking about the music of the film said that in a film of this magnitude, he could not think of anyone else than AR Rahman as the music composer. Sharing his delight of having Javed Akhtar, the legendary lyricist on his team, he said, “Having him for this project as a lyricist is a delight”, as they share a good bond for many years.
“With all the positivity and full of energy, we will commence the shoot for the film very soon,” he added.
The film title was announced in October 2023. Sharing the news on social media, Aamir Khan Productions posted, “I, and the entire team at AKP, are most excited and happy to announce our next, starring Sunny Deol, directed by Raj Kumar Santoshi, titled Lahore, 1947.
