Thalapathy Vijay to enter politics soon. Though there have been speculations about the actor joining politics and forming political party even before, the latest reports from Times of India points that Vijay is all set to launch a political party soon.

Vijay will be making a political entry in a month, and as an initial step Vijay”s fan club-cum-welfare association, All India Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam, will register as a political party next month, TOI reports. The association held a meeting at the actor”s office in Panaiyur off East Coast Road discussing the matter and they unanimously elected him as the leader of the yet-to-be formed party. As per the reports, Vijay attend the meeting which lasted for three hours. “The general council also gave its approval to the election of other office-bearers, including general secretary (Bussy N Anand) and treasurer,” source told TOI.

There are reports that many who participated in the general council meeting expressed that the party should contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. In response, Vijay apparently said that the 2026 assembly elections should be their goal and will discuss the matter with office bearers in due time.

As to advance his political mileage, members of the welfare organisation have been engaging various initiatives including free food distribution, eye donation and setting up night study centres, TOI reports. Besides, when Cyclone Michaung hit the southern districts in Tamil Nadu, he visited regions, gave assistance to the afflicted people and also appealed to the members of his fans’ association members to join the rescue efforts.

The actor is currently working on the project, The Greatest of All Time directed by Venkat Prabhu. The movie also boasts a stellar cast including Prashanth, Prabhudeva, Sneha, Laila, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Mohan, Jayaram, Ajmal Ameer and Yogi Babu. The movie is set to hit theatres in July.
