“The words used by Amit Shah in the Parliament about the architect of the Indian Constitution and messiah of Dalits and other neglected classes, Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, have greatly hurt Baba Saheb’s dignity and existence, and in a way, he has been insulted. Now there is tremendous anger and resentment among his followers in the entire country and he should take back these words and he should also repent for this.”

Continuing further, Mayawati said that if Shah failed to do so, Ambedkar’s followers will never be able to forget “just like the way they haven’t been able to forget the misdeeds of Congress towards Dr BR Ambedkar.” She stated that no matter how much Congress changed its colour and style, people have not be been able to trust it.

Mayawati also alleged that after Ambedkar’s death, the grand old party worked to remove his name and his contributions to the making of the Constitution from history. It was BSP founder Kanshi Ram carried forward Babasaheb’s “unfinished mission,” she said.

The BSP chief also accused the BJP for its alleged opportunism. “The BJP is no different. They exploit Dalit votes but do not genuinely honour Babasaheb. Both parties use deceptive tactics, and Dalits must remain vigilant against their machinations,” IANS reports, as Mayawati is saying.

Mayawati further said that the BSP stay as the sole advocate for Dalit rights, working relentlessly for their welfare. “Dalits will not be misled by the hollow politics of these parties,” she said and requested the community to remain united and vigilant.
