Any Future Terror Attack Will Be Treated As Acts of War: India

New Delhi: As conflict escalates between India and Pakistan, with drones and missiles targeting each other’s territories, India has decided to consider any future act of terror as an act of war against the country, news agency PTI reported, citing government sources. India also declared that the country will respond accordingly.

India’s big warning following a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier the day with Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and chiefs of the Indian Armed Forces at his residence in New Delhi.

The meeting was convened after India carried out strikes at airbases in Pakistan in the early hours of Saturday in reply to Pakistan’s attack several Indian targets, including military facilities.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri had noted that Pakistan’s actions against India are being seen as “escalatory” and “provocative” in nature, adding that India defended and reacted in a responsible and measured fashion.”

India carried out Operation Sindoor inside Pakistan and Pak-Occupied Kashmir earlier this week, targeting terror camps, triggering Pakistan’s retaliatory actions by resorting to drone and missile attacks, and heavy cross-border shelling. India had targeted terror camps in response to the April 22 Pahalgam attack, which the country alleged was orchestrated by Pakistan-based terror groups.

The Resistance Front, (TRF) long seen as a front for LeT initially claimed the responsibility for the attack, though later denied claiming their official handles were hacked. A total of 26 people were killed during the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam.
