Former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's Son Nishant Kumar Takes Charges As Bihar Health Minister

Patna, Bihar: Former Bihar chief minister and Janata Dal (United) [JD(U)] chief Nitish Kumar’s son Nishant Kumar has taken charge as state health minister on Thursday, May 8. After taking charge, Nishant Kumar expressed his gratitude to the people of Bihar for electing NDA in 2025 elections.

“The responsibility entrusted to me by the senior leaders of the party and Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary,” Nishant Kumar said. Notably, there have been criticism against the induction of Nishant to the state cabinet without even contesting an election.

Twenty-two days after the formation of the Samrat Choudhary-led government in Bihar, the cabinet expansion took place on Thursday in a grand ceremony at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in Bihar expanded its Cabinet on Thursday (May 7), with 32 Ministers taking the oath of office at Gandhi Maidan in Patna.
