Heavy Rainfall Triggers Major Landslide In J&K's Kishtwar, Vehicles Buried, Highway Blocked
Heavy rainfall has triggered a major landslide near the 540 MW Kwar Power Project in Kishtwar. The incident has buried multiple vehicles under debris and caused extensive damage on the road. The rainfall caused landslide and flash flooding at Prem Nagar blocking the Kishtwar-Doda Highway (NH-244).
Several vehicle remains are trapped beneath the landslide material. Debris clearance operations are currently underway to retrieve the stranded vehicles and restore the affected area. There are no reports of any fatalities from the site.

Authorities have advised commuters to avoid the highway and follow official traffic advisories until the road is reopened. Videos shared from the site show extensive damage to multiple vehicles as they remain trapped beneath the landslide debris.
Meanwhile, , flash floods caused by incessant rain have also wreaked havoc in parts of Doda district, disrupting normal life and causing damage in several locations across the district.
