The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday shared his “incredible” experience with the indigenously designed and developed LCA (Light Combat Aircraft) Tejas from Karnataka’s Bengaluru. The PM took a sortie on Tejas at the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) site in Bengaluru.
“Successfully completed a sortie on the Tejas”, wrote PM Modi to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle. According to him, the experience was “incredibly enriching”. As he said, the adventure bolstered his confidence in the nation’s indigenous capabilities and left him with a renewed sense of pride and optimism about India’s potential.

As the Times of India quoted the officials, the PM went skies on a trainer variant of the fighter aircraft. Tejas is a homegrown indigenous aircraft designed and developed by the ADA, a DRDO lab in Bengaluru and manufactured by defence PSU HAL headquartered in Bengaluru. Narendra Modi will also visit and review the HAL’s manufacturing facility, including that for the Tejas jets.
After visiting the HAL site in Bengaluru, the Prime Minister is scheduled to leave for Telangana to address an election rally. BJP is administering strong political strategies in Telangana this year and the central leaders were also taking part in the campaign programmes.
The 2023 Telangana Legislative Assembly Elections, as per the Election Commission of India, was scheduled to be held on November 30, 2023. The results will be declared on December 3 and the state is witnessing a crucial test amidst a triangular competition. The state government is currently ruled by the Bharatiya Rashtra Samiti (BRS) with K Chandrashekar Rao on the Chief Ministerial position. The major opposition is the Indian National Congress (INC) and the BJP is still working hard even though they had a comparatively low profile in the state now.
