A doctor said the autopsy report of the woman murdered at Kolkata’s RG Kar Hospital suggested that she was gangraped. In an interview with India Today, Dr. Raja Dhar, Director and Head of Pulmonology, CK Birla Hospital said that the nature of the injury and the force used show that it cannot be done without the help of two or more people.
The doctor told journalist Nabila Jamal that this was the most gruesome incident he had seen or heard in his lifetime, and not even one single inch of the victim’s body was spared.

On August 9, a post-graduate trainee (PGT) doctor was brutally raped and murdered while on duty. The body of the 32-year-old woman was found inside the seminar hall of the hospital on Friday morning in a semi-naked condition. The deceased was a second-year student of the chest medicine department.
The preliminary autopsy report revealed that the woman was sexually assaulted and incurred multiple injuries across her body. Kolkata Police arrested a civic volunteer Sanjoy Roy in connection with the case.
“This form of brutality could not be done without the help of two or more people,” Dr. Dhar told India Today. He added that this is his understanding, and similar views are shared by doctors across the board as well.
He expressed doubt that the accused, one person could manage such the amount of grievous hurt and brutality to the victim.
