The supporters of TMC MP Mahua Moitra dug up an old case where BJP MP Nishikant Dubey and his wife Anamika Dubey were booked in relation to demanding Rs 2 crore for Lok Sabha election campaigning.
The case has been traced about a decade back – April 2014. Raising the plea against the duo, court has then asked the Delhi police to file a status report on FIR lodged against the couple. The court order came after the police filed the compliance report on the court”s order asking it to register a case against the MP and his wife, Business Standard reports.
The police filed the case under different sections consisting voluntarily causing hurt, criminal intimidation, extortion, house-trespass, and criminal conspiracy. The plea has been submitted by complainant Delhi-based Sandeep Sharma, who accused that the MP and his wife on November 2013, forcibly entered his house and asked for Rs 2 crore for the BJP leader”s “political ambitions,” Business Standard reports.

However, the Delhi Police has not responded to the allegations made by Mr. Gupta that no action has been taken by the police against the couple, although many cases have been filed against them.
The case resurfaced in the social media when the supporters of Ms Moitra spotted it. The cash-for-query directing at TMC leader set storm on political arena when Mr Dubey lodged complaint against her. As per BJP MP”s claims, Ms Moitra has received bribes and favours for asking questions in the Parliament targeting Adani group at the behest of businessman Darshan Hiranandani. He also alleges that Ms Moitra had misused her parliamentary login and id by allowing Mr Hiranandani to post questions on her behalf.
Consequently, a Lok Sabha ethics panel constituted to look into the affair. The Parliamentary body consisting of 15 members and headed by BJP MP Vinod Kumar Sonkar started examining the case from October 26. And as per the draft report submitted on November first week, the committee recommends expulsion of TMC MP from Lok Sabha and cancellation of her parliamentary membership.
