
Narayana Murthy's Toddler Grandson Makes Rs 6.5 Crore From Infosys Dividends: Report
After Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy gifted shares worth over Rs 240 crore to his 18-month-old grandson, Ekagrah Rohan Murty, when the latter was just four months old, the toddler has now accumulated Rs 6.5 crore in dividends from his shares, according to a report by Times Of India. The company prompters received a substantial dividend payout of Rs 2230 crore driven by their stake in the firm.
However, the youngest shareholder Ekagrah, the son of Rohan Murthy and Aparna Krishnan, earned the money after occupying a 0.04 percent stake in 2023 in the company, one of the largest information technology services companies in the country.

In 2024, Murthy made headlines by gifting shares of Infosys to his four-month-old grandson Ekagrah, making him one of India’s youngest millionaires after the Infosys shares. Ekagrah was born in 2023 as the third grandchild of Narayana Murthy and his wife, author-philanthropist Sudha Murty.
Infosys’ latest dividend payout was Rs 43 per share, which translated into Rs 2,330 crore divided among the stakeholders who collectively hold 54.2 crore shares.

As per report, Nandan Nilekani, the company’s chair, gained Rs 175 crore in dividends from his 4 crore shares, while co-founder Narayana Murthy earned Rs 65 crore in dividends from his 1.5 crore shares. Another co-founder, Gopalakrishnan, with Rs 3.2 crore shares, received dividends of Rs 137 crore, while his wife Sudha Gopalakrishnan, the highest individual shareholder in the company, got Rs 410 crore in dividend earnings from 9.5 crore shares, the report added.
Apart from them and the promoters, the children of Narayana Murthy and Sudha Murty also received substantial dividend earnings. Rohan Murty earned ₹261.5 crore in dividends from his 6 crore shares, and Akshata Murty, wife of former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, yielded ₹167 crore from her 3.8 crore shares.
The third generation of promoters, Nikita and Milan Shibulal Manchanda, each held 61 lakh shares and earned ₹26.3 crore in dividends. Tanush Nilekani Chandra, with 33.5 lakh shares, received ₹14 crore. Ekagrah Rohan Murty, the youngest among all, yielded ₹6.5 crore from 15 lakh shares, the report pointed out.
