The Tamil Nadu Police revealed to the Madras High Court that six individuals have gone missing from Jaggi Vasudev’s Isha Foundation in Coimbatore since 2016. This disclosure was made orally before a Bench of Justices MS Ramesh and Sunder Mohan.

The police informed the Court that an ongoing probe into the missing cases was already underway. The Bench recorded this submission and directed the police to furnish a status report on the investigation by April 18, the next date of hearing.

The Court was addressing a habeas corpus petition filed by Thirumalai, a resident of Tirunelveli district, seeking the production of his brother Ganesan. Thirumalai approached the Court after Ganesan, 46, went missing from the Isha Foundation in March last year.

During the hearing, Thirumalai informed the Court that despite his attempts to establish contact with his brother, he received no response. Upon contacting the Isha Foundation, Thirumalai was informed that his brother, who worked at the ashram, had not reported for two days. Subsequently, Thirumalai filed a police complaint and approached the High Court for intervention.

Jaggi Vasudev and the Isha Foundation are not new to controversies. Earlier, allegations were raised regarding environmental concerns related to the organization’s activities, particularly its involvement in the construction of the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore. Additionally, there have been accusations of human rights violations and mistreatment of individuals associated with the foundation, including former employees and volunteers.

Recently, it was reported that Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev underwent emergency brain surgery at a private hospital following severe bleeding in the skull. However, according to recent updates, Sadhguru is on the path to recovery. In an Instagram story shared by Sadhguru’s daughter, Radhe Jaggi, she assured followers of his improving health, stating, “For those asking, Sadhguru is doing well and recovering quickly.” Additionally, the Isha Foundation issued an official statement affirming Sadhguru’s positive progress, stating, “Sadhguru has been recovering well and making steady progress. His parameters are normal and stable.”

The 66-year-old spiritual guru, known for his environmental campaigns such as ‘Save Soil’ and ‘Rally for Rivers’, underwent surgery on March 17 to address the bleeding in his skull, as confirmed by Indraprastha Apollo Hospital. Following the procedure, Sadhguru was successfully removed from the ventilator, and the hospital noted his steady improvement in vital parameters. Amidst his recovery, Sadhguru also shared a video from his hospital bed on his Instagram account.
