In the recent development to the Pune Porsche accident case, a video of the 17-year-old accused boasting about how he got away with the accident, is going on rounds on social media. The mother of the accused, Shivani Agarwal has come up claiming that the video which is being circulated is fake.

In the 33-second clip, Shivani breaks down while clarifying that the video featuring her son is fake. She appeals to the police officer to “protect” her son. The video starts with Shivani flashing a phone screen showing the viral video to the camera. After introducing herself, she said, “I want to request the media that the videos that have been circulated are not of my son. They all are fake videos. My son is in the detention centre.”

She then continued by requesting the police officer to protect her son. Later in the video, Shivani is seen breaking down, pleading with folded hands to the police commissioner.

The clarification from the mother came following a video was circulated on social media with the claim that the 17-year-old boy was involved in the accident case which killed two people. The video drew intense criticism from netizens. However, the Pune Police confirmed that the boy seen in the video is not the minor who was involved in the accident.

In the purported video, the boy was seen singing provoking lyrics and making fun of the accident which resulted in the death of two people.

Following the massive disapproval, the Juvenile Justice Board on Wednesday canceled the bail granted to the 17-year-old accused and remanded him to an observation home till June 5. The board had earlier issued bail within 15 hours after the accident and also asked the teenager to write a 300-word essay on road accidents. This drew widespread anger and criticism.
