
Kerala CM Meets Palestine Ambassador In India, Says State 'Always With Palestinians'
Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan met the Palestinian Ambassador to India, Abdullah Abu Shawesh on Monday, September 29 in Thiruvananthapuram. The chief minister expressed his solidarity with Palestine, stating the state is always with the self-determination rights of the Palestinian people.
The chief minister said the left party’s stance is that the United Nations and the international community must urgently work to restore peace in the Middle East and make possible the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with UN resolutions. He highlighted that Israel’s attempt at the occupation of Palestine, with the backing of the United States of America, brazenly violated international conventions.

Notably, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)]-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) is organizing an event in Kozhikode, Kerala, on October 2, Gandhi Jayanti Day, to express solidarity with the people of Palestine. The Palestinian Ambassador would attend the event to be held at the Muthalakkulam Ground in Kozhikode city. The LDF district leadership has urged everyone who expresses solidarity with Palestine to participate in the event.
The ambassador explained the Israeli occupation and the problems facing the Palestinian people. He also said that the support provided by Kerala at this crucial time was great, adding that the Palestine needs more support, and he hopes to receive it from all over the world.
