In a striking departure from the convention, both the BJP and Congress parties opted for candidates outside the Jat community for the Sonipat seat and the India alliance subsequently won the seat gaining votes for Satpal Brahmachari contested on behalf of  Mohan Lal Badoli represented the BJP by a margin of  21,816. Brahmachari secured 5,48682 total votes in the Lok Sabha Election 2024.

Mohan Lal Badoli secured the second-highest number of votes following Bhramachari in the Sonipat constituency.

Sonipat, a major Lok Sabha constituency in Haryana, has gained momentum for its unique electoral vitality following the recent elections. With a population exceeding 1.4 million, Sonipat’s politics is distinguished by the preeminence of the Jat community.

This unexpected shift in victory reflects evolving political strategies and attempts to appeal to a broader voter base beyond traditional community lines.

The 2019 General Assembly Elections saw Ramesh Chander Kaushik of the BJP emerge victorious in Sonipat with a substantial vote count of 5,83,988. Bhupinder Singh Hooda of the INC party trailed as the runner-up.
