Dharambir Singh, the incumbent Member of Parliament from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), emerged victorious in this political race, securing 588,664 votes and winning by a margin of 41,510 votes in the Lok Sabha Election 2024. Singh’s campaign capitalised on his previous tenure and achievements, striving to secure continued support from the electorate.
Facing him was Rao Dan Singh of the Congress, a sitting Member of the Legislative Assembly from Mahendragarh. Rao Dan Singh’s candidacy brought a strong local connection and political acumen to the contest, with a focus on addressing the constituency’s pressing issues and promising effective representation in the Parliament.
Adding to the competition was Rao Bahadur Singh from the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP). His entry into the race introduced fresh politics, innovative approaches, and a commitment to the constituency’s development. Rao Bahadur Singh’s campaign was geared toward attracting voters seeking change and new leadership.
In the previous 2019 elections, Dharambir Singh secured a decisive victory with 736,699 votes, defeating INC’s Shruti Choudhry by a margin of 435,262 votes. This year’s election witnessed a renewed contest with strong contenders competing for the Lok Sabha seat.
The Bhiwani-Mahendragarh constituency, which carries substantial portions of the Bhiwani district and the entire Mahendragarh district, was formed in 2008 following the Delimitation Commission of India’s recommendations.
