"India Made A Mistake...Now Must Pay Price": Pakistan's PM Shehbaz Sharif

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has issued a statement showcasing the success of his forces, where he highlighted the bravery of his armed forces and the loss of India’s fighter planes in the ongoing ‘Operation Sindoor’. On early Wednesday, May 7, 2025, India launched targeted strikes on terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

“India made a grave mistake for which it must now pay the price. Perhaps they thought we would back down, but they forgot that.. we are the nation of brave people steadfast in our resolve,” Prime Minister said. Sharif mentioned lauded the “Shaheen”, alluding to the Pakistan’s military capabilities and alleged loss of India’s Rafale fighters. However, these claims have been dismissed by Indian sources, and particularly by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) fact check.

As per the latest updates, Pakistan’s military has updated the death toll and said that 26 people have been killed, while India’s military strike has injured 46.

Meanwhile, India reported that at least 12 people on its side have been killed and 57 have been injured by cross-border shelling from Pakistan.

As per the reports, a day after India’s strike on multiple terror hideouts in Pakistan, several blasts occured in Pakistan’s second-largest city, Lahore, on Thursday morning, reports Reuters, citing staff witnesses and broadcaster Geo TV.

The blast sent shock waves across the residents in Lahore in the face of heightened tensions with India. India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ on Wednesday targeted terror sites across 9 locations, killing over 30 people in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.
