After a long-wait, the losing streak is finally over for Babar Azam’s boys. They have finally won their third win in the match against Bangladesh on Tuesday at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. With the stunning performance displayed in the 31st match of ICC World Cup 2023, Pakistan smashed Bangladesh for seven wickets.

Though they started the campaign journey with two wins against Netherlands and Sri Lanka, fours losses that followed blurred Pakistan’s World Cup dreams. But Men in Green is back with a bang.

In the last match, Pakistan openers Fakhar Zaman and Abdullah Shafique gave a strong start in the 205-run chase. While Shaheen Afridi and Muhammad Wasim picked three wickets while Haris Rauf bagged a brace restricting Bangladesh’s run.

After the game, it seems like Pakistan is back on the field once again. With the win, Bangladesh exit from the World Cup campaign is confirmed. While, Pakistan misfired its chance to get into finals by loosing to their arch-rivals India, record-champions Australia and giant killers Afghanistan.

Interestingly, Pakistan still holds a chance to get into the final four of the ICC event. They have managed to improve their net run rate at Kolkata. With the run rate of -0.024, Pakistan now stands at fifth position in the World Cup point table. The Green Army have the chance to finish behind the current topper India if either of New Zealand, South Africa or Australia loses a couple of matches. The math will be completely turned over if they managed to beat New Zealand and England in the next following matches. But the win has to be with big margin. But that’s not it, even if they manage to wins next two matches, Australia and New Zealand should lose next all matches for Pakistan to go up in the point table. Pakistan will have to turn on “do or die” mode.

Pakistan will face New Zealand on November 4 followed by defending champions England on November 11.
