As the world gets ready to witness the most unique and spectacular opening ceremony, the France weather channel has predicted the possibility of rain that might play spoilsport and dampen the mood.
The opening ceremony is scheduled to be held today outside the premises of the stadium for the first time in the history of the event. The weather department has predicted that showers could hit the Paris region in the evening.

“For the moment, the risk of showers during the opening ceremony cannot be ruled out,” Metro France said. “Forecasts have yet to be confirmed”.
The ceremony will start at 7:30 PM local time and is expected to last more than three hours.
There is a 70%-80% chance of “moderate to heavy” rain at the Paris Olympic Games opening ceremony starting at 7:20 pm on Friday, French weather channel La Chaine Meteo said.
However, the Minister of Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games Amelie Oudea-Castera, promised on the RMC morning show, “The rain will not spoil the opening ceremony! It will not deteriorate the quality of the show”.
Instead of the conventional track march into a stadium, Paris 2024 athletes will be paraded on more than 90 boats on the Seine River for 6 kilometers in the opening ceremony.
The idea was unveiled in December 2021, by the three-time gold medalist and head of the Paris 2024 organising committee Tony Estanguet.

The ambitious break from the tradition, however, was considered to be riskier as the organizers and security officials were tasked with ensuring the massive open-air show.
