WATCH: US Spokesperson Matthew Miller Gives Cheeky Response To T20 World Cup 2024 Win Over Pakistan

US State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller displayed his funny side as he was involved in banter with a reporter. The incident took place when a reporter asked him about the hosts clinching a win over heavyweights Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2024 during a press briefing.

In response, Miller said that he would get into trouble if he answered a question that was not from his area of expertise.

“I often get in trouble when I try to comment on things beyond my area of expertise, and I would say Pakistan’s cricket team is certainly in that category,” Miller said.

Put into bat, Pakistan rode on cameo knocks from Babar Azam (44) and Shadab Khan (40) to guide the side to a total of 159/7 in the Group A encounter at the Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas.

In response, USA captain Monank Patel hit a half-century to level the score against Pakistan, taking the match to Super Over. The hosts held their nerves in the Super Over to clinch victory.

USA are currently placed in the second sport of the T20 World Cup 2024 points table while Pakistan sit on the third spot.
