Google Bard, a generative AI chatbot created by tech giant Google, has unveiled the “Respond in Real Time” feature in the platform. With the new feature, users will be able to receive the responses to their questions in real time. Earlier, the chatbot provided responses only when it was complete. But now, users can see the brief look as the response is getting generated.

According to 9to5Google, the real-time setting has not yet appeared in Google’s Bard Updates changelog. With the “Respond in real time” feature, Google is trying to improve the user experience by minimizing the delay between a question and its response. The reports also say that if the initial response does not meet expectations, users can click on the “Skip response” button and proceed with another question. Google Bard, powered by Google”s next-generation language model Palm 2 (Pathways Language Model), was introduced in the market to compete against OpenAI”s ChatGPT, which is backed by Microsoft.

Google Bard was launched on February 6. On that occasion, Sunder Pichai, CEO of Google, said that the new chatbot seeks to combine the breadth of the world’s knowledge with the power, intelligence, and creativity of Google”s large language models. In September, Google added another major feature to the Bard. Google announced that the chatbot has integrated with Google apps and services to provide more helpful responses. Google also upgraded the “Google it” feature to double-check Bard”s answers and expanded features to more places. During the Made by Google event on October 4, the tech giant also introduced the all-new Google assistant, powered by Bard.
