Instagram is rolling out several major upgrades as part of empowering content creators and improving the visual appeal of the platform. Meta-owned Instagram has updated the reels, feed photos, carousels, and stories. With these upgrades, creators can easily create content.
In a recent blog post, Meta announced that creators can save time editing their videos with new tools like undo and redo that make it easier to edit individual clips. As part of new upgrades, creators will also be able to scale, crop, and rotate individual clips. Creators can also make new memes by adding clips with audio to the reels from the new media clip hub. Moreover, Instagram has also updated voices, fonts, and text styles for improved creative expression. “We’re also adding 10 new English text-to-speech voices to choose from, available in select countries,” said Meta in its statement.
The platform is also exploring new ways to access the audio browser or trending audio. Users will now be able to quickly jump to the audio page from the top of the camera roll. Notably, Instagram has also redesigned Drafts. As part of this makeover, users will get a streamlined view of all their saved drafts. Creators can soon preview their drafts, rename them, and schedule them in advance.
Apart from the creator updates, Instagram is also testing the ability to make custom stickers from users” own photos and videos in the camera roll. Moreover, users will be allowed to create custom stickers for their reels and stories using AI. This is driven by Meta’s Segment Anything AI model (SAM). Instagram has also released various creative filters for an enhanced visual dimension.
