Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Mohamed Bin Zayed had a conversation today, during which the leaders discussed the current situation in West Asia.
In a post, PM Modi said he had a good conversation with “my brother” Mohamed Bin Zayed, and both shared deep concerns about terrorism, the deteriorating security situation, and the loss of civilian lives in the Israel-Palestine war, which is now in its fourth week.
“We agree on the need for an early resolution of the security and humanitarian situation and believe that a durable regional peace, security, and stability are in everyone”s interest,” PM Modi”s post said.
On Thursday, news agency Reuters reported that UAE has planned to treat 1,000 Palestinian children from Gaza, without saying how they would leave the Israeli-besieged enclave for the Gulf state.
India has been sending humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, however, it had to face backlash when it abstained from voting when the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on last Friday adopted a resolution calling for an “immediate, durable and sustained humanitarian truce” between Israeli forces and Hamas militants in Gaza.
