Honda has unveiled the exclusive CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP Carbon Edition, which draws inspiration from the MotoGP bike. Honda has unveiled its all-black Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP.
What is this Carbon Edition?
The Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP Carbon Edition bodywork is coated with a UV-resistant matte clear coat to preserve the material and give the motorcycle a stealthy look.

It is entirely made of carbon fibre, including fairings, winglets, air box cover, and engine cover. It also includes 6 unique components inspired by the RC213V MotoGP race bike and made of 3K/12K pre-impregnated carbon which has been moulded through the autoclave method. The motorcycle features carbon fibre bodywork and parts like the front mudguard, under cowl, middle cowl, rear tyre hugger, airbox cover and winglets are also finished in carbon fibre. To preserve the aesthetics, Honda has finished these parts with a UV resistant matte clear coat. The use of carbon fibre also helped Honda save a total of 1kg over the standard motorcycle.
The motorcycle gets all the top-of-the-shelf components like adjustable suspension and Brembo brakes, host of electronic gadgets. Honda says that the motorcycle is inspired by its race bike, the RC213V MotoGP bike. The motorcycle is powered by 200bhp in-line four-cylinder engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quickshifter. The CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP Carbon Edition will only sell 300 units globally. The bike’s arrival on Indian shores is unlikely, as most of these limited edition motorcycles get sold even before arriving at dealerships.

The Carbon Edition continues to be powered by the same 999cc inline-4-cylinder, water-cooled engine that produces a peak a power of 217 bhp and 113 Nm of torque. Honda has allotted 45 units to the UK and 70 units to France so far. Currently Honda sells the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP in the UK for GBP 23,499,(INR 25,83,942.99) while the all new Carbon Edition costs GBP 26,749(INR 29,41,285.85) which is a considerable jump in price. It will be wishful thinking if Honda will allot any units to India.
This bike has been brought back to Europe after 7 years of absence, now loaded with technology and updated looks matching the entire Honda Motorcycle’s supersports range. On the other hand, the new this bike has been fitted with a vast range of new parts and with changes in the ergonomics, taking the top of the range superbike to a new level of riding experience.
