Ayushmann Khurrana Investment Yields 400% Gain In The Man Company

Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana has reaped 400% returns from his angel investment in The Man Company as personal and health care conglomerate Emami Ltd is all set to acquire the male grooming brand at a valuation of Rs 400 crore.

The actor had ventured into business by investing in The Man Company in 2018, and became part of its campaign, marketing and product innovation. According to Forbes India, Emami currently holds a 50.4% stake in Helios Lifestyle, which owns The Man Company. Announcing the acquisition of the remaining stake, Home-grown FMCG major Emami on Saturday issued a statement, noting that the completion of the acquisition of Helios by Emami will strengthen its presence in the fast-growing digital-first premium male grooming segment.

Emami had acquired 33.09 per cent equity stake in Helios in two tranches – one in December 2017 and the other in February 2019. The company in 2022 increased its stake to 50.4 per cent.

Launched in 2015 by Parvesh Bareja, Hitesh Dhingra and Bhisham Bhateja, a digital-first lifestyle brand, offers men’s grooming products in categories including fragrances, skin care, hair care, body care and beard management.

Speaking about his investment in the male grooming firm, Ayushmann had said he had always believed in The Man Company’s vision & mission statement from the start.  “It’s such validation to be a part of the brand’s success story and witness its impact on the men’s grooming industry, the actor said, adding that being an integral part of this journey, both as an investor and as a brand ambassador, has been an incredibly gratifying and insightful experience.

Talking about Ayushmann’s partnership with the brand, Hitesh Dhingra, founder of The Man Company said it has been a game-changer for the brand, and the actor’s vision and active involvement as its brand ambassador have been instrumental in its growth journey.
