The Bengaluru Urban District Collector has declared a holiday for Anganwadi, primary, and high schools tomorrow after the Meteorological Department issued a rain warning.

With an orange alert declared in Bengaluru companies have also been advised to allow their employees to work from home. The IMD has put Bengaluru on alert as a precautionary message due to the increase in the intensity of rains.
Bengaluru has received heavy rainfall since early Tuesday morning causing heavy waterlogging and traffic jams in the city.

While the schools and anganwadi centres will be closed the colleges will remain open. To ensure the safety of the students, principals of the degree, post-graduation, diploma colleges, and ITIs have been given guidelines to follow.
Schools have been asked to conduct online classes for higher grades and lower grade students assignments are given to be completed at home.
On Thursday, October 17, a state government holiday will be observed for Valmiki Jayanti.
