This year marks a significant shift as CBSE, following the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, will conduct two board examinations for Class 10 students.

In a notable move, the tentative date sheet was released as early as September 24, 2025, 146 days before the exams — a first in CBSE’s history. The final date sheet, issued 110 days ahead, allows students ample time for preparation.

CBSE said it ensured a suitable gap between major subjects commonly opted for by students while designing the schedule. The board also avoided overlapping of papers from more than 40,000 subject combinations. The examinations will start at 10:30 a.m. (IST). According to CBSE, early release of the schedule helps students plan in advance, reduces exam anxiety, and supports teachers and schools in managing classes more efficiently. Families too can plan their summer vacations accordingly.
