The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a notice to its affiliated schools, directing them to develop a functional website and upload teachers’ details including qualification and other prescribed information. CBSE noted that the schools remained unable to submit required documents despite repeated mentions.
The official notice reads, “The board has issued directions to all affiliated schools to develop their individual website and shall upload details of teachers with qualifications as well as prescribed information and documents as part of Mandatory Public Disclosure”.

As per the notice, despite repeated instructions, many affiliated schools still do not have a functional website. Some schools, although having websites, have not uploaded documents or partially uploaded the required information and documents. In certain cases, schools have uploaded the information/documents, but the links are inactive. Also, some schools have uploaded the prescribed information/documents, but the icons or links to these are not prominently displayed on the homepage.
The notice also says, “Inspite of the repeated directions by the board, it has been observed that many affiliated schools still do not have a functional website. Besides, some schools have a school website but have either not uploaded or partially uploaded the desired information and documents, under Mandator Public Disclosure”.

The notice is another move by the CBSE to evaluate compliance by schools with CBSE’s norms and Affiliation Bye-Laws. Recently, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted surprise inspections at 29 schools across six regions on December 18 and 19, as part of its goal to uphold educational standards. The inspections were carried out in Delhi on December 18 and in Bengaluru (Karnataka), Patna (Bihar), Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh), Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), and Ahmedabad (Gujarat) on December 19.
