Priyanka Gandhi Responds To The Alleged NEET Paper Leak

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra reacts to the alleged leak of the NEET examination on Monday. Taking to her X (formerly twitter), the General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) said that the trend of leaking of the paper has been going on for the past ten years. She asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to speak up on the matter and raised the question of why the law against the question paper leakage has not implemented yet.

The Congress leader further said that the paper leak is messing up with the lives of crores of promising youth and such negligence is the reason why unemployment and corruptions in jobs are the biggest issues of the ongoing Lok Sabha election. She said that Congress manifesto promises to stop paper leak and tampering the youth’s future.

Soon after the NEET UG 2024 medical entrance exam was over, social media report emerged that the question paper was leaked. One particular video that has been circulating on the platform showed a person turning the sheets of a question booklet, and on the background slogans are being raised.

The National Testing Agency (NTA), national level competitive exam body, denied the allegations. It said, “the instances of ‘paper leak’ being claimed are completely false and it is being done just to sensationalise the news”, as quoted by Indian Express.

There was instance of the incorrect distribution of the question paper. NTA said that it came to the attention of the Agency that at one examination center in Sawai Madhopur, there was an incident of incorrect distribution of question papers by the Center Superintendent. In order to uphold the principles of fairness and equal opportunity for all candidates, the NTA, as part of taking proactive measures, has now ordered re-exam on the same day itself. It said, “The examination of approximately 120 affected candidates from the Girls Higher Secondary Model School examination center is being conducted today, 5 May 2024, ensuring that their academic aspirations are not hindered by this incident”.
