As video reportedly showing Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar”s son, Devendra Pratap Singh Tomar discussing transactions worth crores of rupees went viral, Congress on Monday demanded the resignation of the Minister and immediate arrest of his son. The news is shocking since Union Minister is a BJP candidate in the upcoming Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections from Dimani constituency.

Congress”s social media chairperson Supriya Shrinate said that as Devendra Singh Tomar”s video demanding bribe is going viral, Election Commission (EC) should take notice of this matter. “EC should take cognizance of this matter, watch the video and take immediate action. Deals worth Rs 100 crores and Rs 39 crores are being done by someone. They were talking about some person named Tyagi to mining and address proof of Krishna Menon Road, ” The Free Press Journal reports.

Ms Shrinate added that Mr Tomar has served as the minister of mining and is the neighbour of Home Minister Amit Shah on Krishna Menon road. She asked why the probing bodies, ED, CBI and Income Tax Department are silent on the matter.

Adding further, the Congress leader asks that since Mr Tomar is a big leader, how can the bribe issue be investigated until he resign from the post. “Hence, Narendra Singh Tomar should resign from his post and his son Devendra Tomar should be arrested.”

Meanwhile, after the video went viral on social media, Mr Tomar lodged a complaint at civil line police station in Morena district against an unknown person. Citing it as a conspiracy, Mr Tomar claims that the video is edited and it meant to defame him.

The 230 Assembly constituencies in Madhya Pradesh will go to booths on November 17 and the counting of votes will take place on December 3.
