BJP's Nikhil Madaan Secures Victory In Sonipat constituency Of Haryana

Nikil Madaan of the BJP secured the victory in the Sonipat constituency of Haryana. Defeating the former minister, Surender Panwar, of Congress, the BJP candidate emerged victorious with a margin of 29,627 votes.

Marking his victory on his political debut through this election, Nikil Madaan bagged 84,827 votes on the BJP ticket. He won against the former Congress minister, Surender Panwar, who bagged 55,200 votes.

The Sonipat constituency has witnessed a triangular contest between the candidate of the major parties and Devindra Gautam of the AAP. Moreover, a total of 12 candidates are contesting from the constituency, including the key candidates of the major parties.

In 2024 Haryana Assembly elections, the total percentage of voters in Sonipat Assembly Constituency was recorded at 57.6 percent. In the 2019 Assembly elections, Surender Panwar of the Indian National Congress (INC) won the seat, securing 79,438 votes, while BJP’s Kavita Jain received 46,560 votes. Panwar’s victory margin was 32,878 votes, accounting for 24.63% of the total vote. The INC’s vote share stood at 59.51%.
