Actress Alia Bhatt, who is focusing on her career while managing and cherishing her motherhood, recently revealed certain layers of her personal life and her deeply relatable struggle. The actress, who is marching forward in her career, opened up about her clinical diagnoses of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
The Jigra actress had already opened up about her attention deficit issues and how it affected her day-to-day life. But in her recent conversation with author and podcast host Jay Shetty, the actor opened up about how she felt and the diagnoses of ADHD.
Alia also revealed that after years, she recently sought to understand the physical and the metal clues about her condition. In her words, she described, “My body was heating up at social gatherings.”

She revealed that her decision to seek professional help came after noticing persistent difficulties that went beyond the occasional “anxious day.” Explaining the feeling, she said that she found it hard to focus on certain things.
About her diagnosis process, Alia shared that determined to get answers, she underwent a rigorous three-day professional test (not a casual online quiz) to confirm what she’d begun to suspect. As a result, the actress underwent a dual diagnosis of ADHD and anxiety.
She also added that the revelation was both bitter and sweet since it offered her the information about what she was going through. She further explained that the lack of clarity created an unsettledness in her and having a name for her experiences brought comfort and a sense of agency.

While describing what she went through, she said, “There’s a lot of noise and chatter in your brain, and you feel like, ‘Is it just my brain? Or is it just something that is happening to me today?’ The minute you find an answer to it, it’s comforting.”
Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder commonly diagnosed in children. ADHD affects the brain’s ability to regulate attention, behavior, and impulse control and can persist into adulthood. Adults with ADHD often experience restlessness and difficulty concentrating.
