Though the controversy surrounding the AR Rahman’s recent Chennai concert still not subsided, composer has released the highlight video of the controversial concert on social media platforms and is now receiving criticisms.

Mr. Rahman“s concert, “Marakkuma Nenjam”, was held at Adityaram Palace in Chennai on September 10 received backlash for the terrible management. Mr. Rahman and the organisers (ACTC Events) has been subjected to harsh criticism as the mismanagement resulted in overcrowding and created a stampede-like situation. Besides traffic issues, and suffocation problems, instances of alleged molestation of women and displacement of children were also reported. Taking into consideration of the severity of the situation, both parties agreed for the refund of the tickets for those unable who are unable to participate despite having ticket.
While the fans still not recovered from the bad experiences in regards to the event, Mr. Rahman on his official pages on Instagram and X (formerly twitter) posts the glimpses of the concert on Sunday, in a four-minute spanning video with the caption, “Chennai concert highlights.” Though the comments were restricted to few in X and was disabled in Instagram, however many fans reacted saying posting the video was ‘inconsiderate.’

The Indian Express reports that on Friday, Police registered cases against officials of the ACTC events, the organiser of the concert, and two others, “for overselling tickets, committing breach of trust and causing inconvenience to people.” On the day after the Concert, CEO of the event management company, Hemanth Raja, through an Instagram video, issued a statement of apology for the poor management of the event, and said not to blame Mr Rahman, “We take full responsibility.”
Meanwhile, in an exclusive interview to The Hindu, Rahman talked about the unfortunate incident and said: “We will face this and fix it, because every soul is important to me. . . . We will, hopefully, not let this happen ever again.”
