The release of the most anticipated sequel, Pushpa 2, is making headlines since its release for the back-to-back misfortunes in theatres. Following the tragic death of a woman during a stampede at a theatre in Hyderabad, police are investigating an incident related to a toxic spray at Galaxy Theatre in Bandra after a disruption occurred during the screening of the film.

At the Gaiety Galaxy Theatre, during the 10 pm show, a toxic substance was allegedly sprayed inside the theatre by an unidentified person, which caused cough, throat irritation, and vomiting among the moviegoers.

The incident reportedly occurred on Thursday night, causing chaos inside the theatres. The smell stayed for 10-15 minutes, according to reports.

Due to the disruption, the film was halted for around 15 to 20 minutes after the interval. A video also surfaced online from the theatre; people were also seen covering their faces with clothes. Soon after the incident, the Mumbai police reached the premises and initiated the investigation.

The incident created panic among the public, as it comes after the tragic death of a 32-year-old woman during the film’s premiere in Hyderabad, when actor Allu Arjun visited the theatre. The entry of the actor triggered a stampede outside the theatre. The chaos led to the death of a woman, named Revathi, while her nine-year-old son was hospitalised due to asphyxiation as the crowd jostled at the film theatre to get a glimpse of the actor.

Revathi and her son were pulled out of the crowd by the police, and CPR was performed on both. They were immediately shifted to the nearby Durgabai Deshmukh Hospital. However, the doctor declared Revathi dead, and her son was advised to be shifted to another hospital for better treatment.
