Suriya's 'Retro': Karthik Subbaraj Drops The Alternate Version Of 'Kanimaa' Song
Suriya and Pooja Hegde’s Retro is witnessing a steady run at the box office. The film holds various surprises to excite the audience and has good music scores. The songs composed by music director Santhosh Narayanan have been wildly trending on social media. While the film is basking in the box office success, the makers have released an alternate version of the trending Kanimaa song. Here is the interesting story behind this unheard version.
The song Kanimaa created a huge sensation on social media, with netizens recreating the iconic steps and vintage outfits. Yes. As per the director, Karthik Subbaraj, music composer Santhosh Narayanan, aka SaNa, composed a different song for which the now-famous 15-minute single shot was filmed. But later, after being impressed by the lyrical video that Karthik created for the release, SaNa decided to upgrade the song with interesting elements. And that’s what gave birth to the now viral Kanimaa song.
Interestingly, the word Kanimaa, which went viral on social media, never even existed in the initial version of the song. Suriya and Karthik shared the interesting story behind the composition in a conversation video dropped by the production house 2D Entertainments.
While the film receives good reception among the audience, the makers have now released the alternate version of the song with a hashtag, #KanimaaALT.
