The actor, who effortlessly fits into the shoes of the characters, breathes life into the creations of the directors beyond factors of language, country, and habitat, the descriptions surely point towards the actor Dhanush. Through experimental efforts and dedication to the industry for nearly 22 years, the actor etched his multifaceted contribution as an actor, singer, director, producer, songwriter, composer, and whatnot.

As the actor Dhanush steps onto the 5oth milestone of his career with his release Raayan, let’s flip through the pages of his journey, where he emerged into a history-maker more than an artist, representing Indian cinema on the international stages with various accolades.

Often called Indian Bruce Lee in the Kollywood film industry, the actor who redefines the factors that define a hero. started his acting venture as a teenager in 2002 in his family’s creation  Thulluvadho Ilamai, with his father as the director and his brother Selvaragavan as the writer. Even though the film was just a sleeper hit, he kicked off a good start with a commercial success over his second film Kaadhal Kondein in 2003, portraying the role of a mentally disturbed teenager.

With remarkable ups and downs with various films like Thiruda Thirudi, Kutty, Polladhavan the actor lived as an enthusiastic teenager on screen for years until he made a breakthrough with the cult gangster film  Pudhupettai in 2006, under Selvaragavan‘s directorial venture, which redefines the actor as an artist.

The actor throughout his 22-year career actor added multiple feathers to his cap, as he reintroduced himself as a singer in the industry with his playback Un Mele Aasaidhaan from the action-adventure film Aayirathil Oruvan alongside his wife Aishwarya Rajinikanth. His bilingual song Why This Kolaveri di, from his psychological thriller, 3 became the first video from India to gain 100 million YouTube views.

Decorating the shelves with various accolades and representing Indian cinema on International stages, that actor became the youngest actor to win the National Film Award receiving the National Film Award for Best Actor, for his dream project  Aadukalam with Vetrimaaran in 2011. Including this on the list, the actor has received 4 National Film Awards 2 as an actor and 2 as a producer.

Debuting his Bollywood entry, with the film Raanjhanaa, directed by Aanand L.Rai opposite Sonam Kapoor, the actor garnered wide acclaim. Receiving wide acclaim the movie was released in Tamil titled Ambikapathy commercial success garnering 94 crores worldwide.

The actor opened his international venture with The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir, in 2019, which unexpectedly turned out to be a commercial failure. But later the actor made his comeback in international theaters with the film The Gray Man,  joining the ensemble cast of Chris Evans, and Ryan Gosling.

Above all the actor living on the screen captures the hearts of the audience, the actor lived the cruel portrayal of casteism in his acclaimed film Asuran, receiving several awards including the National Award as the Best Actor and  It was one of the ten Indian films to be screened at the 78th Golden Globe Awards (2021) under the Best Foreign Film category. It was also screened at the 51st International Film Festival in the Indian Panorama section.
