A 24-year-old man in Chennai, identified as Vajinathan from Ambattur, allegedly murdered his boyfriend and committed suicide. Vajinathan was working as a techie in an IT firm at Chennai’s Thoraipakkam, while the victim Lokesh, 25, worked at a call center.

The two met through an online dating app a year ago and initiated a relationship. When the families discovered about the relationship, they confronted them. Later Vajinathan’s family decided to arrange his marriage with a girl from his native village which led to ending of his relationship with Lokesh. But Lokesh insisted on maintaining the relationship, reports The News Minute.

This led to frequent fight between the couple. On Tuesday, Lokesh’s parents filed a complaint at Aminjikarai police station.

Vajinathan’s sister informed police about a voice message she received from her brother stating his intention to end his life. Upon the tracking the mobile number, the police discovered two bodies at a lodge in Paneer Nagar, West Mogappair.

The bodies were later sent for postmortem to Government Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital (KMCH), and case has been registered. As per the police statement, the evidence suggests that Vajinathan strangled Lokesh using a shoelace and then committed suicide.
