'My Car, My Choice': Delhi Rapido Driver Denies Ride To Muslim Passenger Due To Religious Identity
New Delhi: A cab driver has allegedly denied a ride to a passenger based solely on his religion in Delhi. The Rapido driver refused the ride after finding that the man who booked the ride was a Muslim, sparking debate online about the rising discrimination in everyday transactions in India.
The incident happened in Delhi, and the video of the same went viral on social media, triggering outrage and debate. The video shows the viral voice recording in which the passenger can be heard questioning the driver after being denied the ride.

“Why are you saying I am not allowed? Because I am a Muslim?” he asks. The driver responds bluntly, saying, “Yes, Muslims are not allowed in my vehicle. My car, My choice.

Reacting to the online backlash, Rapido issued a public apology, calling the behaviour “completely unacceptable,” adding that the company takes such incidents seriously while assuring that it would review the matter.
“Your safety is our top priority, and we are committed to ensuring a respectful and secure experience for all our passengers,” the company said, adding that it would follow up after completing its investigation,” the platform added.
Users on social media slammed the driver highlighting that no individual should face harassment based on their religion. The latest incident follows several such alleged hate instances, sparking widespread debate on the safety of people.
