Satirical Outfit 'Cockroach Janata Party' Attracts Millions Of Followers After CJI's Remark Sparks Outrage

New Delhi: With a five-point agenda, a new satirical political outfit called ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ has gained momentum across social media, attracting young people in the country. The outfit, which has over 3 million followers on Instagram, invites citizens to register for the Cockroach party.

The party was born a day after chief justice of India Surya Kant drew criticism after his controversial statement likening the unemployed youth to cockroaches. Several politicians, including Trinamool Congress MPs Maha Moira and Kits Azad, have joined the satirical ‘Cockroach Janta Party’, after the platform rapidly gained traction online.

The five-point agenda of the party includes no post-retirement reward for judges, pointing fingers at those working in judiciary. Earlier this week, a visibly upset chief justice said that some become media, social media and RTI activists and starts attacking the system while likening them to cockroaches. However, the CGI later clarified that by the remark, he meant only professionals with fake and bogus degrees.

Who Is Founder Of Cockroach Janata Party?

Abhijeet Dipke, a 30-year-old is a student of public relations at Boston University and has previously volunteered with the social media team of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) from 2020 to 2023, founded the Cockroach Janata Party, according to a The Hindu report.

The other agendas, mentioned in the party website, include call for protecting all legit votes, 50% reservation for women, independent media instead of Godi media and 20-year ban on political defections as any people’s representative will be barred from contesting if they defect from one party to another within the specific period.

In a social media post, founder Abhijeet condemned CJI’s remark for slamming the youth of the country. The movement has now undertaken by the youth as their resistance towards unemployment in the country. “Being the founder of Cockroach Janta Party I condemn this clarification I have my differences with the PM but I believe the CJI has no right to insult him. Not having a legitimate degree does not give anyone the right to call fellow citizens parasites,” the Cockroach Janata Party founder satirically wrote on X.
