The Staff Selection Commission has notified a total of 17,727 vacancies for Group B & C services across various ministries and departments through the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exam 2024. Eligible and interested candidates can apply on the official website at ssc.gov.in.
SSC CGL Recruitment 2024: Salary, Perks and Allowances
As per the official notification, the salary and perks range according to different ranks and posts. The SSC CGL 2024 salary ranges from Rs 25,500 to 1,51,000 including perks, depending on the designation and job responsibilities. This includes additional benefits such as House Rent Allowance (HRA), Travel Allowance, Dearness Allowance (DA), and more.
Pay Level – 4 (Rs 25,500 to Rs 81,100)
- Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant in the Department of Posts, Ministry of Communication
- Senior Secretariat Assistant/Upper Division Clerks in Central Government Offices/Ministries
Pay Level – 5 (Rs 29,200 – Rs 92,300)
- Auditor in offices under C&AG (Comptroller and Auditor General of India)
- Accountant/Junior Accountant in other Ministries/Departments
- Auditor in various other Ministries/Departments
Pay Level – 6 (Rs 35,400 – Rs 1,12,400)
- Research Assistant in National Human Rights Commission (NHRC)
- Executive Assistant in CBIC (Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs)

- Sub-Inspector/Junior Intelligence Officer in Narcotics Control Bureau (MHA)

SSC CGL Recruitment 2024: Selection Procedure
Candidates will have to appear for two tiers – Tier 1 is a computer based test of 100 questions worth a total of 200 marks. Each question carry 2 marks and 1/4th mark is deducted for every wrong answer. The question paper covers four subjects – English, General Awareness, General Intelligence and Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude.
Candidates who pass the Tier 1 exam will appear for the Tier 2 exam. The tier 2 exam is consist of three papers – Paper 1, Paper 2 and Paper 3. All Paper are objective type with some exceptions.

A candidate has to be in a certain age limit to appear for the different posts: 18-27 years, 20-30 years and 18-32 years.
