
Kerala: BJP Councillor's Death: Suicide Note Blames Party Leadership; Party Workers Attacks Reporters During Coverage
Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala: The BJP councilor of Thirumala ward in Thiruvananthapuram Corporation, K Anil Kumar, was found hanging at his office on Saturday, with officials describing the incident as a case of suicide, reports local media Mathrubhumi.
An alleged suicide note left by the BJP leader allegedly accused the saffron party’s leadership of failing to support him during financial crises with a cooperative society, the report added. A cooperative bank spearheaded by Anil is reportedly on the verge of collapse due to financial difficulties. The note also mentions that he and his family have not taken any cash from it.

Recently, there were reports that the BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar faced criticism from a section of the party leaders for his management style, calling it a corporate method. During a recent unit meeting, party workers allegedly argued that the party should not be run like a corporate company, as the leadership assigned tasks, reportedly creating workloads.
As the unit presidents were not salaried employees, the workload has reportedly put them in a position to think about leaving the role.

Notably, reporters who arrived in Thirumala to cover the alleged suicide case of the BJP councilor were attacked by the party workers, grabbing cameras, and hurling abuses, reported MediaOne.
In another incident, PM councilor B Rajendran of Muttathara ward has resigned from the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation following corruption allegations. The action was taken after evidence surfaced linking the CPIM leader to financial fraud. Following this, the CPM expelled Rajendran from the party’s primary membership.
