Kerala Rain: Kerala continues to receive heavy rainfall as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday issued a yellow alert in ten districts and orange alert in four in the state. The weather body has forecast heavy rainfall ranging between 7 and 11 cm over the next 24 hours. Notably, a slight dip in the intensity of the rainfall is expected, and there are no red alerts in any districts.
Districts such as Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Malappuram, and Kasaragod have been alerted to receive higher rainfall today.

The weather forecasting agency issued alerts to all districts: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur & Kasaragod.
The authorities have also declared a rain holiday for educational institutions on Saturday, and in Kottayam, Kollam, and Idukki, classes for schools, colleges, Anganwadis, tuition centers, summer camps, and religious study centers have been suspended.

Several places, including Kasaragod and Kannur, have faced flood-like situations due to the heavy rainfall and strong winds, and several families have been relocated to relief camps. The winds and rain have disrupted transportation, delaying four trains and road traffic as trees fall along the way. Heavy damages have been reported from several districts across the state due to the rain-induced wreckage. Several rivers have started overflowing, causing panic to the nearby residents.
It is reported that the state may delay the reopening of schools in the wake of continuously heavy downpours. According to the forecast, the heavy rainfall will continue for the next four days in Kerala.
