As per the latest update, the intensity of rainfall is decreasing in Kerala. The weather department has not issued a red and orange alert in the districts as of Thursday.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert for nine districts: Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod.

A yellow alert indicates heavy rainfall ranging from 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm within 24 hours.

As of early this morning, the highest rainfall recorded in the regions was as follows: Kannur (80 mm), Vadakara (114 mm), Panathur  (97.5 mm), Muliyar (78 mm), Paadannakkad (73.5 mm), Kannur-ICAR (73 mm), and Bayar (73 mm), IMD reports.

Meanwhile, relief and rescue operations are continuing in landslide-struck areas in Wayanad on the third day. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan reached the district this morning. He reached Civil Station in Kalpetta, accompanied by chief secretary V. Venu and DGP Shiekh Darvesh Sahib. The all-party meeting chaired by the Chief Minister has started.

He will also conduct a high-level meeting with officials to review the situation at the landslide-stricken sites. Later in the day, he is planning to visit Chooralmala and Mundakkai, where rescue operations are progressing.

Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and KC Venugopal will visit Wayanad today.
