All You Need To Know About Bhiwandi MP Suresh Gopinath Mhatre

Suresh Goipnath Mhatre, NCP(SP) candidate emerged victorious from Bhiwandi Lok Saba constituency by securing 499,464 votes. He won with a vote margin of 66,121 votes.

Suresh Mhatre is the NCP(SP) candidate from the constituency. He began his political career as Shiv Sena worker and later joined NCP. Later he sided with Sharad Pawar following the split in the party.

Kapil Moreshwar Patil, BJP candidate is the union minister of Panchayat. He was once a prominent leader of NCP from the Thane rural area. He has served as the chairman of the Thane District Cooperative Bank. Later he joined BJP in 2014. He was elected to the Lok Sabha in 2014 and 2019 as well.

Bhiwandi was established post the 2008 delimitation, originally carved out from Dahanu. In the first election in 2009, Congress’s Suresh Taware won from the constituency.

Bhiwandi parliamentary constituency has a mix of urban and rural areas. It was previously a part of the Dahanu Lok Sabha constituency. It is also one of the largest warehousing hub in Asia. It is divided into six assembly segments.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha election, BJPs Kapil Patil won the seat by securing 411,070 votes. Later he defeated Congress Vishwanath Patil who received 301,620 votes.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, BJPs Kapil Patil once again won the seat by securing 523,583 votes. Congress Suresh Tavare came second with 367,254 votes.

The Maha Vikas Agadhi has toppled the exit poll results and has won from the state sweeping majority of the seats.
