In the Lok Sabha seat of Maharashtra, Nilesh Lanke won by securing 624,797 votes. He won by defeating his opponent, BJP candidate Sujay Patil with a vote margin of 289,29 votes.
NCP (SP) has fielded Nilesh Dnyandev Lanke as its candidate from the constituency. In 2019, he was elected as the MLA of the Parner Assembly constituency in Maharashtra. He commenced his political journey as a gram panchayat member in 2010. Despite initially siding with Ajit Pawar during the split, Lanke later joined back to Sharad Pawar faction.
BJP candidate Sujay Vikhe Patil is the member of the parliament representing the Ahmednagar constituency. He has contested the election in 2019 and won with a huge margin of 2,81,526 votes against the NCP candidate. Sujay Patil is a neurosurgeon and fourth generation leader who hails from a powerful political family in western Maharashtra.
Patil is the grandson of veteran politician and seven-time member of the parliament, Balasaheb Vikhe Patil.
Ahmednagar constituency consists of six legislative assembly segments. In the 2014 Lok Sabha election, Dilip Kumar Gandhi secured victory again by garnering 605,185 votes. Rajiv Rajale of NCP while received 396,063 votes. The independent candidate Baban Gangadhar Kolsepatil came third by receiving 12, 683 votes.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, Sujay Vikhe Patil of BJP won the seat with 704,660 votes. While Sangram Arun Jagtop of NCP received 423,186 votes.
The Maha Vikas Agadhi has toppled the exit poll results and has won from the state sweeping majority of the seats.
