Meta will soon be rolling out multitasking capabilities like Apple Vision Pro to its Quest headsets that allow users to rearrange 2D apps in the virtual space which unveils a new “Theatre View” while they focus on a particular activity. It is stated in the company’s blog post that the new characteristics would replace Quest’s default three-panel grouping which would further enable panel movements to come in handy according to their needs.
The new update enables multitasking in a virtual space with three fictional monitors right next to the actual desk. It will also allow users to create their avatars mimicking facial expressions through real-time expression tracking.

The “Theatre View” allows users to expand the panel size using the panel control bar fetching it to the front which will be useful while watching movies, preparing a document or browsing the internet. There will be content from creators in the Horizon Feed on Meta Quest linked to the Quest mobile app that enables users to keep posted with the latest news, scroll through entertainment pieces and discover various apps.
The company anticipate the update of the Horizon OS v67 from July 8 in Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest 2 headsets and Meta Quest Pro. The updated feature includes swipe typing support to jump from letter to letter allowing words spell. The users can also choose the duration of the ‘Do Not Disturb’ feature.

In Meta Quest Pro, the company introduced Infinite Display, a slimmer, lighter headset design having innovative patented pancake lens and display technology. Meta Quest Pro comes in a price range of $999 (Approx. Rs 83,500) and the base models are available at a cost of $499 (Approx. Rs 41,666).
