New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Tuesday (January 7) claimed that the BJP-led Central government evicted her out of the official chief minister’s residence last night, i.e, on Monday. Hours after Election Commission of India (ECI) declared the schedule for the Delhi assembly elections, the Chief Minister along with other AAP leaders made this allegation.

“The schedule for Delhi elections was announced today. Last night, the BJP-led central government, for the second time in three months, threw me out of my official residence, which has been allotted to me as being the CM,” PTI quotes as Atishi is saying.

Delhi CM claimed that the Centre have cancelled the allotment of the CM residence through a letter and “snatched away the residence from an elected CM of an elected government.”

Atishi then stated that her belongings were thrown out on the streets even three months back. Continuing further, she said that this will not deter her from working for people of Delhi.

“BJP thinks they will stop our work by snatching our houses, abusing us and making below-the-belt remarks about our families. But, I want to tell people of Delhi that the work won’t stop even if they take away our home,”Atishi said.

She further pledged to introduce schemes for women, priests and elderly in Delhi.

Meanwhile, BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya accused Delhi CM of lying and dismissed her charges as “false claims.” In a post on X, BJP leader wrote she has not been evicted as she never moved into “Sheesh Mahal” bungalow which has allotted to her in October.

Malviya cited two reasons could have lead to the allotment of the residence being cancelled; one, failure to take possession  of the residence within the stipulated time and secondly, the undergoing CBI/ED investigation.

“The Sheesh Mahal is under scrutiny by the CBI/ED, with a CAG report confirming corruption in its construction. When the house was allotted, one of the conditions was that Atishi must cooperate with the investigations. However, she deliberately avoided taking possession, leaving the house locked and obstructing the investigating agencies,” Malviya wrote.
